Natures’ Bounty

My Window View

Here I am at work.  My mornings here are slow and my thoughts are allowed to wander … aimlessly … dependent on my mood .  My eyes wander too, peering through my window to an ever changing and colourful view.  Thoughts and Vision often intertwine.  I have time.

The heat hangs heavy, a thick haze pressing down gently, against the dewdrops that lay glistening in the grass … drying them intact where they sit … like tiny teardrops caught in glass. The temperature is palatable only by the presence of a soft summer breeze that skips and flirts through the flower beds, turning colourful heads with its passage.  The friendly breeze swiftly lifts and swirls high to tickle the underbelly of trapped leaves … stirring them to a giggling, chattering rustle.  The impish breeze catches and carries their whispering on the joyful current of the wind.

Sunlight washes the landscape with an Artist’s hand in rays of silver and white.  Birds on winged flight race across the sky to dip … to dive.  A great white gull spreads its powerful wings, soaring high and angles into the sky to disappear from view behind a cloud of white.  Crows with their distinctive “caw, caw” disturb the morning stillness as they land in the giant Oak.

A tiny brown wren walks boldly on the hot pavement into a sun heated puddle and dipping his wing tips into Natures’ bath … he thrashes about.

A few cars are parking in the cracked lot and my day is about to begin.  Anything could happen and usually does.  The beauty outside my window lingers in my mind.  Satisfied … I am ready to begin.  I will let you go for now to begin your own day.  Do It your own way.
